Dear engineers,
Coding is dead and AI killed it. But don't worry. I am a merciful manager. I will always have a job for you.
The thing is that AI works perfectly most of the times and that doesn't cut it.
Sometimes there’s a bug. Other times the business logic doesn’t match. Or it changes but we just didn't tell you. Lol, isn't it funny when we do that? And sometimes my mood is off because my kid bit me in the morning. That f*king kid, I tell you.
That’s when you come in. An engineer. A human. A walking, breathing, piece of flesh that has feelings. Feelings that I can hurt.
From today onwards, in this glorious new age of AI, you are responsible for the actions of the AI. For ensuring nothing breaks and the business logic is sane. And taking blame when shit hits the fan. Everything else- an AI can do.
We’ll give you a fancy title too. Something like "Responsibility Owner". Has a nice ring to it, no?
You have no idea how lucky you are. Less work, same salary, new fancy title. Such a good deal.
You had to do such hard work. Write code word-by-word. Ew.
Now look at you. You're just a wrapper around Claude that takes responsibilities for its output. Easy peasy.
Congrats on the new role. Hope you have fun.
Best wishes,
